World of trees, World of good

Team Malasakit is heading back to Mt. Purro Nature Reserve in Antipolo, Rizal on June 20. At the same time, our businesses across the country will be holding their own tree planting activities throughout the month, helping create more green sanctuaries in their communities. This initiative is part of our celebration of Arbor Day in the Philippines, observed every June 25 under Republic Act 10176. Also known as the Arbor Day Act of 2012, it highlights the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and encourages everyone to help restore our forests. Through these efforts, we also contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal on climate action, taking meaningful steps to help combat climate change and its impacts. Our volunteers have so far planted nearly 17,000 seedlings in the last three years! This program works alongside other notable programs across the group such as SMB’s “Trees Brew Life,” which has planted more than 1.3 million trees since its launch in 2010; and San Miguel Global Power’s “Project 747,” which has so far planted 8.1 million seedlings and propagules across over 2,200 hectares upland in 21 provinces.
